Watch out walled gardens?

Comments

I've always been against walls. No matter if it's real walls (take Berlin for example) or virtual walls (China's Internet censorship).

But I do think the idea of having communities or clubs that you only get through invites is fun. As long as the moderators don't start playing God.

Peace out
Well, I agree with you - some communities can have internal parts. However I think that not allowing the "creation" of the community to be published out to the world severly limits it.

I think that in the ned we'll have lots of clubs, where membership is one thing (that's where participation comes in) but readership (where sharing comes in) is a completely different thing.
